Seems I was a young girl, I enjoyed playing with babies and younger kids. When I saw the daycare centre for the first time. My eyes stopped blinking and My heart felt like this is where I want to be everyday of my life.
And as I worked in a centre, I wanted to do so much more and one day I realized I can have my own wonderland in my home. I was filled with joy and excitement and that was 25 years ago. The excitement and joy of having my wonderland, lights bright in my heart everyday of my life. It’s a best decision I had made in my very early youth life and I have never regret it.
I can’t see myself anywhere else, but in my home, in my home daycare of wonderland (Kaplana RSG)
Why I love my job! By Deborah Shalom. Feb/22
Get up in the morning,
Searching for coffee,
Then the doorbell ring, ring, rrrrrriiiiinnnngggsss!
Oh, oh! Daycare begins!
R S G
Responsible d’un service de garde.
Me.
On guard for thee,
wee one
in my care.
I do declare
that you and yours shall be
care free,
as you play
full of glee
learning your ABC
and much, much more.
From the moment I open the door, (to my heart!) and you leap into my arms,
until we say our bye-byes, as gratitude gleams in the eyes of maman et papa.
Another day of magic and wonder, make-believe
and tricks up your sleeve,
draws to a close.
Your laughter echoes and stays.
You are the sunrays
Brightening the playroom of our lives.
As an RSG, I am so pleased to be
a part of your world,
helping you along as you take your first steps,
until you fly from my daycare nest,
at five years old,
bold,
confident,
prepared to take your place
in the big school of life.
That’s why I say,
Almost every day,
that I’m the luckiest lady
in the world! (RSG, Deborah)
I am grateful I got this chance being with children, giving them my time, care and attention when they need the most while there parents are away, because of them I get to do lots of things which I probably won’t do it on daily basis play, spend more time in nature and park, smile, laugh more, love unconditionally, enjoy to the fullest. Same child who cried and screamed in the early days the daycare friends and our home became the most happy place. I wonder sometimes taking ECE program just because I didn’t know where to start as a new arrival in Canada many moons ago changed my life for so much better and working in big daycares Made me realize I want to give more flexibility, time without rushing, which was not possible in a big Daycare because of taking turns as groups. Even though they keep me on my feet and clock, it’s not how many activities they do in a day but how much fun, smiles and learning in many different ways without holding pencils or sitting at the table and chairs, I wanted provide comfort, safety, care, love and homely environment where children
can have fun, be happy, learn while having fun.
I am happy this work has changed me for better and gave better care and attention to my own family while helping us financially. As each child in my group is unique our love and respect is the same. I will call my self lucky to be with this children and the BC Panda with all there guitars help.

I get to spend my entire day surrounded by love and happiness!! I get to hear the sound of their laughter and spend every day with little souls that are truly appreciative of my every action. It doesn’t feel like a job. How many people can actually say that they get paid to play. And within these sweet little ones, I leave a legacy of health, kindness and global communitarianism that will live on, long after I am gone!!! In the meanwhile, I have helped Mommy and Daddy build a better future for their beautiful families. It is more than a job, or a profession. It is a lifestyle of giving and service. I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else!!!
